Genda Phool | Marigold

Marigolds, October and Durga Puja have always belonged to one another. There is something about the riot of orange, the fragrance of flowers and the anticipation of the festive season that makes this time of year feel so special.

This Carnelian Briolette Necklace was inspired by the marigold malas that adorn Ma’s idol during Durga Puja. The warm rich toned carnelians are strung to echo that familiar garland, finished with a vintage Durga pendant at the centre — our first offering to the Goddess.

It is festive without being overly so, which means it doesn’t need to wait for the puja pandal. Wear it with a sari, of course, but equally with a crisp kurta, a simple silk blouse and trousers, or even contemporary separates when you want just a little bit of occasion around your neck.
