Dhaki / Drummer

In anticipation of Durga’s arrival I can hear the distant beats of Dhaak , smell the faint scent of Shiuli and have a heart beating with childlike joy.

‘Dhaki’ (Bangla for  the drummers who beat the ‘Dhak’ during Durga Pujo), is my first offering to the Autumnal festival. The idea of using silk string was to keep the focus on the stunner of a pendant made up of Rajasthani amulets made in pure 92.5 silver. It’s a quirky statement piece with a contemporary appeal .
