Dahlia

October is all about festive moods and nothing quite announces the arrival of autumn like the first dahlias in bloom. Big, unruly and impossibly generous with their colour. The deep maroon dahlia, in particular, has always felt wonderfully festive to us and this necklace is my ode to it.

Stunning Garnet briolettes are strung with a slice of Agate set in sterling silver, giving the necklace a slightly contemporary edge. But the deep maroon of the garnets has other ideas — it is exuberant, joyful and quite happy to be noticed.

Wear it with a sari when you’re in the full festive mood, or let it bring a little colour to a simple blouse, crisp shirt or contemporary dress. It is the sort of piece that can sit quietly against an understated outfit or join the festivities wholeheartedly when the occasion calls for it.
